St. John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM) Bacang Division was founded in 1972 to provide first aid and community services to the public. Staying true to its motto – for the service of mankind, Bacang Division (a combined open division of an Ambulance Adult, Ambulance Nursing, Cadet Ambulance, and Cadet Nursing Division) is today an established presence in the State of Melaka, recognized for its dedication and commitment to serving the public. With a mission to provide relief to those suffering, regardless of race or religion, our social endeavors encompass three main areas: an efficient ambulance service, excellent first aid and nursing training, and a patient-centric haemodialysis service.
With a fleet of 6 ambulances kindly donated by sponsors over the years, we are able to provide 24/7, non-emergency ambulance services to the general public and standby emergency services during special events. As of the end of 2014, we have successfully fulfilled more than 5,000 ambulance calls. In 2016, we launched the first Emergency Medical Assistance Service (EMAS) in the state of Melaka. As of today, our staff and volunteers are attached weekly with Hospital Melaka’s Emergency & Trauma Department. Click here to learn more about EMAS. To engage our services, dial our 24/7 Non-Emergency Ambulance Service Line at 012-631 7007.
Believing that education is a vital step in prevention and remediation, we seek to equip the young and old with first aid skills and knowledge. Our trained volunteers and officers provide first aid and nursing training to students aged 10-18 years old every Sunday at 2.00pm – 5.30pm. For the general public (aged 18 years old and above), we conduct weekly first aid lessons on Tuesdays at 8.30pm-10.00pm. All training lessons are held at SJK(C) Bachang, Melaka. In addition, we conduct various educational, team-building, and personal development programs, such as first aid competitions, field trips, camps, charity runs, and blood donation campaigns throughout the year. We also award scholarships to members who have demonstrated excellence in both academics and voluntary work with St John Ambulance. To join our first aid lessons, contact Division Superintendent Mr. Lim at 06-281 1007 (General Enquiries Line, Office Hours Only).
In 1994, SJAM Bacang Haemodialysis Center was officially opened at Taman Peringgit Jaya, Melaka. Managed by a team of dedicated staff, our clinic offers haemodialysis services 6 days a week and have served more than 120 patients. Understanding the challenges of living with renal disease, we seek to provide professional haemodialysis care to our clients. For enquiries regarding our haemodialysis service, please contact clinic MA Mr. Pang at 06-281 1007 (General Enquiries Line, Office Hours Only).
